FIRE, INC. was incorporated as a non-profit organization in the State of FL. on May 9, 2002.
MISSION
We endeavor to strengthen human capacity through a multiplicity of collaborative partnerships that transcend geographic boundaries; to build bridges that link rural community experiences to processes that transform their lives; to assume social, civic, and economic roles for future responsibilities for which literacy is a prerequisite for effective functioning in professional and social settings; and, in so doing, to promote synergism in service delivery.
VISION
It is our vision to employ interdisciplinary research, education, multi-sectoral development, and community partnerships to achieve a just and peaceful world where all peoples are empowered to participate in democratic processes that liberate and transform lives. Therefore, our unique signifying proposition is expressed as our ability to exemplify the vision of “a people-empowered community partnership.”
Key Action Areas:
Goals and Objectives
The goals presented here are to guide FIRE, Inc. for the next five years. The goal statements answer the question: “What are the specific ingredients needed to teach an individual how to assume the new functions that come with functional literacy in order to lay the foundation for a successful socio-cultural transformation?” For each goal, draft strategic objectives are defined. These strategic objectives provide the bridge between the goals and specific strategies and action plans. Strategic goals are measured both qualitatively and quantitatively with outputs and participant outcomes.
